Subject: Really high MPG.... IP: Logged
Message: Hey everyone, I have an '02 4.7 Auto Quad cab, with the information center aboue the rear view mirror. I had it on the miles per gallon setting and my average was like 27. Is that possible, or could my info center be miscalibrated...
Thanks for any help,
Tom

Message: If you were on the highway in a 2WD, I guess it could be possible. However, I don't see a stock 4x4 getting that kind of mileage. With mods, yeah, but not stock.

Message: Was that average or instant? If you're coasting down hill with the throttle closed, I suppose it's possible.

Message: Actually, this brings up a question I have. If I reset my trip odometer and my overhead computers trip odometer at the same time, their readings do not match over long distances. For example, the dash trip odometer will read 291miles while the overhead computer will report 295miles. Could it be that they are calibrated differently for the tire size or something? I kind of expected the odometers to be identical.

Message: I believe you could get 27mpg .... off of a cliff. Something seems to be out of calibration. Have you crunched the numbers yourself (via trip meter) to see what you came up with?
