Message: I forgot to add that the manual with BOTH my Dakotas specifically say NOT to use GM Dexron of any type in the transmission. They say to use Mopar ATF+4 or equivelant, but in an emergency (I guess if you dump all your ATF+4?) using Dexron III is OK just long enough to get the problem fixed. I don't know what the differences in Dexron III and Mopar ATF+4 are, but it clearly states not to use the Dexron, so if you're running it, you may want to look into the differences and figure out if you're killing your tranny.

Message: The original message from Dahemikota was just trying to tell the guy that the trans and transfer case are two separate units. They don't share the same fluid, but use the same fluid. They must be checked separatly. Skitzo went ballistic when Dahemi said "oil" instead of "fluid". I noticed he didn't go to the General Board and argue with the guy that says ATF Fluid is oil. Of course Skitzo thinks he is god and can't be wrong. His pappy should of bitch slapped him early in life.

Message: Once again, children posting bs. I suppose since your truck is built one way, they are all built your way? Also, read the damn post! I can't believe you new kids can't manage to read more than one or two posts prior, then start flaming with no knowledge! Are you THAT f*cking stupid? And you are wrong about tranny-fluid being oil. If it's f*cking oil, why not run it in your goddamn engine, eh? After I brought up the point he was saying to use oil and not tranny-fluid, he defended himself by saying they were both FLUIDS, not that they were both oil. Well holy-sh*t batman, piss is a FLUID also, and so is Pepsi! Let's use those because they're cheaper, and by the reasoning that oil and tranny-fluid are both fluids, it will work just fine! I can't believe you people are so damn blind, or that you skip big sections of text like that. Here's a re-post because you idiots didn't read it earlier.
By Him:
Make sure there is oil in the transfer case. It does not share the trans oil. There is a plug on the case that you take out to check the oil level.
My Response:
The transfer case uses tranny-fluid all day long! I know because my rear seal went bad and it started leaking RED TRANNY-FLUID, not oil.
Response:
I never said the tranfer case didn't use trans oil STUPID.
if you can't figure out right there that apparently the whole oil thing is out of proportion, and a simple 'you do not use oil here' cannot sink in, maybe you should seek help for understanding basic concepts of life. Transmission fluid is NOT oil. Apparently quite a few of you cannot understand that concept.

Message: You guys are too fast to jump out and attack people here. Sephiroth is right, even though he may not have been as calm about it as he could have been. I also think that there was a major misunderstanding because this "Chrysler Technician" doesn't know how to say "transmission-fluid".
Seph, I think he meant to say that the transmission and transfer-case both use transmission-fluid, but for some reason he calls it "transmission-oil". I fully understand why you missed that, and I had to read his post twice myself before I understood what he meant. Nowhere in America have I ever seen transmission-fluid labelled as transmission-oil, and I am willing to bet none of you have either.
Also, I have personally seen with my own eyes, several setups where the transfer-case and transmission share fluid. Granted, it is not a common thing and I think Seph may be wrong here, but before you gave him a chance to produce any images or links, you flamed him and called him a liar. This is why I prefer not to post on forums where admins don't handle situations. Everybody just flames as they please and never gets dealt with.
You guys need to calm down. I've seen multiple posts where as soon as somebody posts something you don't agree with, you go off the handle and flame them like they've done something wrong. You don't say "Oh no, if you look at this you will see...", you simply call them stupid and tell them they're wrong while trying to discredit them. I have seen this twice where I know for a FACT Seph has been right and after evidence was posted, you just didn't reply. The least you could have done was say you were sorry. I guess that's too mature for you guys though, right?

Message: Thanks, and if he meant that the transfer-case used transmission-FLUID, then I'd have never opened my mouth. Thing is, I have NEVER seen tranny-fluid called oil. Not on a bottle, not in a garage, not by a mechanic.
I'll double-check my transfer-case sharing fluid with the tranny later. If I'm wrong, I'll appologize and post my mistake. If not, I just won't post.
Don't mind the children. There's a few guys on here who live to find a minor flaw in anything and exploit it to flame with. I've learned to ignore most of it.

Message: I don't know Sephiroth outside of these forums. As for our similar speaking style, it's called good English. We both properly punctuate our text and I proof-read my posts before posting them. It's something you would do well to learn. It makes reading your replies much easier, even for illiterate people. You could also have an admin check our IP addresses. I am sure you will see that they are VERY different.

ip should be IP
