Holding up great. They are bulletproof engines...probably the reason Dodge quit making them. Can't allow a good thing to continue...

I had a '92 5.2 with 217K original miles before I got my '01 4.7, which has 82K trouble-free miles to date. (My Dak has "Magnum V-8" emblems, too, daffydak.) 30K piled on annually.

i thought my truck was an oddball because it has the engine emblems on it :-) none of the other ones at the dealer had them (except for a few 97-98 daks, my trade included) and i really like the whining sound under WOT (ohc noise) it kinda sounds like quiet gear to gear timing....
my 3.9 had 54K hard miles on it, and still ran like a champ!

I have a 99 3.9L Dak and it has 108000 miles on it, with some mods and it runs great, i selling it if any one wants it, i know this is a V8 relm but just tryin it out, cause i'm about to buy a 2000 R/T

2000 4.7...3 miles on the odometer when I took delivery now with 90k and no problems at all and I drive it HARD. My tranny is another story ;) Starting to act up a bit which concerns me.

i have a 94 5.2 with 230,000 orig. miles. engine doesnt leak an ounce of oil, and burns very little. however it just recently started to idle very low and sometimes die when I slow to stop. Any ideas? No codes are showing up.

Take that tranny in when you can. Fast. If it's like mine (a 2000 4.7L Dak), it will lock up on you and leave you either having to boil the clutch to get home, or foot for a tow truck. I bought mine new with hopes of driving it to the mileage you are all talking about, but after 67,000, a rebuilt tranny, and now a remanufactured ECU, it's looking more like I ought to send it off a quarry cliff. POS Dodge. Wanna buy a 4.7L 5-speed?

i have a 00 dakota sport with 4.7 it is just about ready to turn over 100,000 and the only thing i had to replace was the rear end, but that could be from me barking in to second alot.

94 5.2 with 174k miles and still counting, 25k last year. shooting for 35k this year. will retire it when it hits 318k.
