Subject: Spindle question IP: Logged
Message: I have a 99 Dakota R/T (completely stock), I was wondering if the spindle shaft was the same as any of the previous models of the Dakota (the older the better). Basically, if I took the front bearings, seals and rotor off a '99 Dakota, could I put them on any other year dakota ('93-'96)

Message: That won't work. In 97 the front wheel bearing changed to a sealed type. The knuckle, brakes, control arms are all different. Hope this helps.

Message: Real big help, I'm going to be fabbing up my own long travel suspension system and I was hoping to find some cheap spindles from a junkyard to press the axles out of, but now it looks like I'll have to press the axles out of the existing spindles I have (this sucks because I wanted to build the spindles with out taking out my daily transportation). Thanks again.
