Just picked up my 99 dakota (5.2) yesterday...dear god I love this truck. It will blow the doors off of my camaro, and sound way better doing it.
the only problem is that the thing has no muffler...the seller took it with him. truthfully, I like the way she sounds now, cause it doesn't sound sloppy like most other trucks that just get cut off at the catalitic converter...friggin sounds smooth and throaty.
well I have an open book here and I'm gonna spend some $ so I want to do it right. I got an exaust cut at the converter and two pipes strapped to the bed. would you guys be able to recomend a muffler that'll keep it obnoxous and throaty, keep my performance up, and be legal? I know nothing about this stuff so I don't know where to start.
what about other engine mods? I'd like to make this truck as badass as it can be.

I would go with Spintech Sportsmen. I just installed a GSM long tube header and Spintech 2 1/2" dual/no cats/x-pipe/side exit exhaust with two Spintech Sportsmen mufflers and Im telling you from experience that it has that aggressive and throaty sound you want. They also flow real well and will work with whatever mods you plan on doing. If for some reason those are not loud enough you could go with the Spintech Race mufflers. Your neighbors will hate you more....!

Ive got the street series. Go check out GSMotorsports and talk to scott. Theyve got complete kits for your truck. Or shop around and piece it together. I love my kit-gave my truck that old school mopar sound.
