Message: Sephiroth, don't make jokes like that! Because of the homeland security act, the nation's law enforcement agencies monitor the internet among other forms of communication. They don't have to have people sitting in a dark room watching a screen, there are programs that monitor internet traffic and key off on certain words. When these words relating to potential criminal or terrorist activity match their search criteria, it's flagged and the IP address is captured. Don't be surprised if the FBI come ask you what you meant by that.
On the gas prices, I was watching one of the financial networks and a market expert was saying that in order to get the prices down, Congress needs to force the SEC (Securities & Exchange Commission) to raise the margins that speculators (investors) in oil futures pay to control these commodities. Many of the speculators are hoarding these stocks because they think the price per barrel will keep going up. Like any stock, if no one will sell the price keeps going up. This has a huge effect of companies that sell oil if the oil they're selling isn't from their own source but a outside or foreign source. They have to pay more to obtain the oil and they pass the cost on to us. Even if the oil isn't difficult to obtain, it costs more. At this point, OPEC can produce record levels of oil but if the speculators keep hoarding, the price of foreign oil will remain high. We can either stop buying foreign oil (not very likely) or we can significantly increase the front money these speculators pay to control the oil stock, they won't be able to hold onto the stock indefinitely. It's like if you knew you could control $100 billion dollars worth of oil stock but needed a security deposit of only $50,000 to hold it, wouldn't you get a loan and do it? Then you could watch the 100 large keep growing and all you have to do is keep paying the loan payment on the 50K. But if you had to front .01% or $10 million there's no way you're going to get a quick loan for $10M. Even if you could swing it, the interest on the loan would quickly be eating up your potential profits if the stock price didn't go up faster than your interest accrued. The solution for us is to email our Senators and Congressmen asking them to force the SEC to pass legislation requiring these weasels to come up with lots more money to control this stock. DO IT!

Message: I don't care, I'd like to ask 'em where I sign up anyway. I *AM* licensed to haul hazardous materials including radioactive substances. Run my drivers-license and see for yourself. Class A CDL with everything, and hopefully a motorcycle endorsement soon.
As for th stock, I know. It's the same as it always has been due to idiots running our country. The rich get richer and the poor get poorer. Hell, if I had half the money I spent on gas back last year, I'd have a second boat (cabin-cruiser) and probably a motorcycle. That's just if I got back the difference I payed from when it was 70c-$1.00. This gas stuff sucks and it's because people in America are too damn lazy to ask congress to do anything about it, and others don't know what to do. I've already written my state congress and am looking for somebody federal I can bit*h at. It's funny you know? If we reopened the draft due to our weak military forces now, people would march on Washington armed to the teeth, yet we let sh*t like this f*ck us in the azz every day we live when we don't have to. It's ridiculous.

Message: I guess it dosn't fluctuate as much as i thought it would. I expected 2.75 - 3.00 on the west coast.
Still its expensive and gives the consumers an opportunity to start looking more serious into electric cars and future hydrocarbon cars. - I just saw an electric honda drive down the road tonight? No noise until it was in front of my house - then a small purring sound!!
Technology, what are our kids in for!

Message: Bend over here it comes again. $1.89 in Chester, VA. at the Wawa gas station. Cheapest in town. Makes you hate the diaperheads even more. Expect $3.00+ a gallon later this summer and don't look for it to ever fall much below $2.00 a gallon for a long time if ever.

Message: You know, as an alternative to emailing and boring our senators to death, we could force them to drop prices now. Think about this for a moment. If a gang or two started hi-jacking rigs carrying oil and diesel, whether people got hurt or not, how fast do you think the senators would find out as opposed to a few emails? Chances, are, MUCH faster. You could also sit back and pop rounds off at passing rigs (the trailers) from foreign oil companies. Humans no longer listen to common-sense and polite emails that make perfect sense. They only listen to threats and then figure out how to react to them. If I knew more than two others who would follow through with such a task, I'd be out there jacking a rig right now.

Message: The perfect idea would be for everyone not to buy gas for a day. Stock prices would drop. supply & demand. The barrel prices would drop forcing them to sell at a lower price, instead of sitting on it and watching there dollar inflate beacuse of the consumers willingness to pay "their" set prices.

Message: That's VERY true, and EASILY doable, because not many people use an entire tank of fuel in ONE day. Most cars can go a week or more, and trucks can get at LEAST two or three days of use. Thing is, America is filled with lazy, greedy, ignorant pigs now, unlike in the past. In the past such a feat would be doable, but now there are those who don't care and would buy gas anyway, some just to spite us for trying. I'm placing my bets on violence or theft causing prices to fall, which is a reality.

Message: J-Mac,
They tried that on May 19, 2004.
All this caused the oil companies to do was lower gas prices by 15 cents on Tuesday and Wednesday and then jack it up by 21 cents today.
In columbus, ohio:
Tuesday 2.07
Wednesday 1.97 ->1.92
Today 2.13!!!
It has finally dropped to $2.11 after 4 days.
