I have a 96 5.2 Dak and i started to have a hot problem also. I had already changed the water pump so this time it was the thermostat, it was almost stuck shut. I also changed the fan clutch. If your top hose is cool to the touch after running awile and the bottom hose is hot then it is probably a thermostat problem.

WHat he said... also, you may have a clogged radiator...I'd check the thermostat first..since its easier and cheaper... go with a 180 the 195 is a bit high, you'll gain 10 hp with the 180...

Is the electric fan working? you may have a bad temperature sending unit...NOt to bring up a bad name, but I have a 1965 Stang, when the temp sending unit "breaks" the needle just pegs to full hot... might be the same on the dak, since the theory of operation is the same on both types... its just a bimetalic spring..if it breaks it just completes the circuit.
