Message: When you rent the fan cluych removal tool from Autozone, keep in mind that you will need for the ford. THey do not have one for a dodge. THe big wrench that fits on the nut is a little big but will work just fine. When i did mine, i just held more pressure on the belt tensioner. Thsi was enough to hold the pulley on the water pump and i could break the fan clutch loose.
And by the way, when your at autozone, don't ask for a coolant recirculating pump. As they will have no idea what your talking about. Even when you explain that your really not pumping water, your recirculating coolant. Yeah i like to F**k with them. It's fun for me, not so much fun for them.

Message: NO YOU DONT!!!! all you need is a BFH, and a 1 7/16 wrench...BFH= Big Fvck'n Hammer. a carpenters hammer can work, but takes a few more hits... I used a 5 lb hammer....
I just took off my fan on my 01 R/T 5.9, its the same fan used on yours... I used a 1 1/4 wrench, since they are easier to find, and ground it out with a dremel... just slip on the wrench and bang it a couple good times from drivers side towards the passenger side.

Message: I took a big long flat head screwdriver and hammer and hit the left side(passenger side) of the nut holding the clutch fan. After a few well positioned hits the nut came loose and I spun the fan and nut off together. Place the clutch fan down, don't let it fall, and then remove the four bolts holding the fan shroud. Once the bolts are removed, lift the fan and shroud out together and install your electric.
