I was looking at split duals for my '99 ext cab 4x4 5.2l. I see gibson says their part no. 6201 won't fit. Anybody have any experience with this. How about the split duals that exit at the rear?

well I have a '02 quad cab 4.7. I got the gibson elite series exhaust on my truck. The exhaust was supposed to fit the truck. I have 16" tires and it does exit the rear. couple of problems though. the pipes going over the rear axle hit both the shock housing as well as the stabilizer bar mounting arm. the driver side pipe is also hitting the spare tire. I have called gibson about this. They are sending me another system that they promised me will fit and work properly. The system has what they call "clampless design" which I thought at first was nice, until we went to install it. It use's slot's in the pipe with two flanges with holes in them so you can bolt them tight together. Well the slots are to long on the pipe that slips over the other, which results in leakage. The system is really "pretty" sounds okay, hard to tell with connections leaking.the new one that they are sending shipped on 5-7-04, haopefully this is much better than the one that I have noew. Gibson support was great in helping me with this problem. I think yours being a '99. I think you have 15" tires. You should have no problem with gibson. If I were you, I would call gibson direct and talk to a customer service person. Take the name & time & date, get the info you need and go order.
