Subject: M1 Intake Manifold?
IP: Logged

Message:
So I have a 1995 Dodge Dakota with the 5.2L and was wondering if there is a M1 Intake which increases horsepower/torque before 3000 RPM's. Since I use my truck as a daily driver, I need it to have good low-RPM power as well as high-RPM power. Just figured I would ask.

nope

mi manifold gives you more power in the mid/high rpm range...get the manifold and a flashed pcm and the lows will kick in again.

I just got my M1 last week...I'm having my dad make a custom "turtle" for it. Now all I have to do is get the other goodies to go with it, and put it on.

A turtle sits in the botton of the manifold and "guides" the air toward the "tunnels".

I'm making up a template and if all goes well, I'll might be selling them.

I know that you will need new gaskets and probably easiest to get the installation kit.
Some sellers include these with the manifold.

In addition to that, I'm putting in a "turtle".

You will also need to get a new thermostat gasket (you could also get a 180 thermostat as well)

i have a 180 in now. I'll prolly just buy a new one, or could I use the old 180? Its only about 6 months old I guess. Do you guys know if SoCal offers the installation kit? And is he the only one to get these off of?

Any personal contact with SoCal? Good stuff?

I think he has about the best prices I've seen so I was just wondering.
Thanks guys!

Here is his Contact info:

JEFF HUNTER

JEFFREY.HUNTER@HENDRICKAUTO.COM
coming soon www.moparsupercenter.com

I wanted the Non-EGR, but he said that there were 41 on backorder and none in the pipleline...He thought that he had 1 EGR left, but couldn't find it. 2 days later, he emailed me back saying that he found it.
I settled for the EGR (you just have to plug the EGR part) for about $18 more than orginally quoted.
He might be able to shop around at other dealers for you, but it will be at a slightly higher price.

I suggest that you email or call him, tell him what you want, and let him find the parts and quote you. I was going to buy mine from socal until I found Jeff selling parts on a forum on www.dakotausa.com

Yeah, I am not the cheapest guy on the block with M1s--- but I do offer them at a fair price. The kit includes the M1, installation kit, the gasket kit w/new bolts, new by-pass hose and the T-stat gaskets.

I just got in a dozen JET 180 T-stats, and will have a special with the entire shooting match. Need a gasket scraper/Mopar intake manifold sealant? I can package is all the way--- I am not the dealership, and cannot sell it at bare bones prices.

I also offer professional powdercoating (and polishing-- prices to follow on the polishing)-- M1 porting and soon, the Turtles.

Watch for specials, as I'll have some 'codes' out for people to enter to get some nice discounts--

SoCal, I hope you wernt offended, I was just saying, that the price Rich said was cheaper than what I found at your site. your site is the cheapest I found myself.. If the dealer cant get the non EGR ones in anyway, your the next bet!

I'm not even sure that Jeff is going to be able to get a manifold EGR or Non-EGR. I was orignally quoted $369.

I have heard lots of great things about SoCal and look forward to doing some business in the future :)

No, not offended... Just adding to the discussion. Yeah, the non-EGR manifolds are ~50 deep now on back order. I wanted one for myself, but went ahead and got the EGR coming--- going to make nice block off plates for the rear ports (as the EGR manifolds are butt ugly compared to the non-EGR IMHO).

It's all good.
