Message: Pope, the insane amount of lack of knowledge on your part is ridiculous. I never once said Nascar had green-lights, I was referring to the f*cking lights in town. And you are also dead-wrong about working the engine harder with 3:55 gearing. It works harder when you push the pedal farther. Simply accelerating normally does not work it a damn bit harder, you just accelerate slower.
I won't even comment on your idiocy about gearing. You've just talked yourself into the all time idiots' hall of fame. I mean there's so much to cover here. For one, going downhill is totally different from driving. You're telling me you drive downhill to work, then downhill back? How the f*ck does that work? I mean it's common-f*cking-sense. Higher operating RPMs produce more power, but it consumes more fuel unless you lean your mixture. If higher RPMs gave better mileage, I'd be driving 130mph to and from work and getting 200mpg. Instead I drive the limit and get 19.6mpg average. And yes, when I f*cking cruise at speeds above 80mph, my mileage starts dropping due to increased RPMs.
Now what the f*ck were you saying earlier about stock sh*t? How does hauling a heavy-ass boat make my truck get better mileage?? If that's the case I'd haul the damn thing everywhere. You're dead-backwards ont he subject of weight and torque. What the hell is wrong with you man, are you high or something? And hauling a trailer of any kind doesn't have sh*t to do with my truck being stock or not! Changing the exhaust, cams, or intake makes it non-stock, not hauling something.
I suggest you do a lot of homework before EVER making such an idiot of yourself again. I mean I've seen stupid, but the lack of knowledge displayed here is just too much to comment on. Jesus, I could go on and on and prove you wrong in every way here. People like you need to be lined up and shot, then left to rot. Your breed of idiocy has no right to reproduce.

Granted, I ain't old and wise yet, but I'm seeing more and more idiots who have trouble remembering to breathe in this world, and it pisses me off because it's usually idiots who wind up running things, and are also the cause of certain horrendous American conditions, which I won't go into here.
Still, the rest is common knowledge and I am not sure how to explain it any simpler. Everybody knows that when you go with the more powerful gearing in anything (even RC cars), while you gain torque/hp, your engine turns more and sucks more gas. Only way I could explain it simpler would be to cram somebody into an engine and let them experience it in both situations. I mean, you don't expect to magically gain extra horses at no cost, right? If anybody does, they've got problems.

Message: Physically impossible without other mods at the same time. To get the same mileage at higher RPMs (you suck more gas with higher RPMs) you would have to lean the fuel/air mixture so you're actually NOT sucking more gas, change your tranny garing so you can maintain the same RPMs engine-side, or do one of a billion other things to modify the truck so you either suck less fuel/get better combustion, or keep your engine RPMs down at the old level.

When i get my gears in next week, i will give as as accurate results (with my truck) as i can. I will also say that, (in my days) I have seem many times over the same truck -the same set-up exact, can be very differnt. No two trucks are the same. (like humans) Where it be milage, torque, penis size ) etc. They (it) will vary to some degree!!
Ones own opionion will not sway another o.k. They will either agree or disagree. Point being made!

Im not claiming that you do not know what you are trying to explain to others so please dont think that Im trying to give you a hard time. I understand that there are definately a lot of people here and everywhere else that "think" that they know more than they do.
But, the only way to get your point across is to explain details with courtesy and respect even if the other dude is a loser and ill-educated. This forum can be a great place to come and check out the latest facts, etc if we can deal with each other with mutual respect.
I definately dont want to lecture anyone but I also would like to see less bickering and more knowledgeable folks who have positive attitudes regardless of how much they contribute when it comes time to offer fact/info.

I mean if each injector uses say, one ounce of fuel per injection, then at 2000rpm if it used 1gal of fuel per minute, how much would it use at 5000rpm? It's common-f*cking-sense here! We're talking third-grade stuff, not rocket-science!

I hate to tell you this, but it is possible to get better gas mileage at higher rpms. It is a little thing called efficency.

OK smart-ass, higher RPMs mean faster engine-wear as well as generating more heat and burning more fuel (less returns). How the hell does that save gas, or for that matter, become more efficient?! Man I lvoe guys who smoke crap, it's hilarious!

But really, I'm not saying anyone is wrong about anything, don't really care.
But I will say, that my N/A, non stock 4.7, WITH the 5 spd you have to shift, gets alittle better mileage at some highway speeds, in 4th gear, rather than 5th gear, with a 3.55 rear end LSD, While towing my sailboat!
Someone said something about efficiency? They obviously meant that sometimes, you can use a lesser throttle setting, at a higher rpm, to achieve the same output, or highway speed, depending on the load that is on the system.
Now who did that rub the wrong way?
