Being it is unadvisable to tow with the mopar pcm, is it possible to put the stock pcm back on to tow? then switch back?
i only pull my boat 4-5 times a year.
Can anyone explain why they suggest not towing with it?
thanks

Don't think you could swap back and forth like that due to mileage burn on the PCM (needs to match what's on the odo.? anyone?)

Swapping isn't an issue...disconnect the battery, of course. I plan on doing the same - keep my stock PCM and have another I bought on eBay B&G flashed and swap when I tow/take it to the dealer (so they don't DEATH Flash this one, too!).

Also, I believe the towing issue is due to the timing advance the MOPAR PCM adds...towing makes it detonate sooner/easier/more expe$ively.

I was told today, that you can indeed switch back and forth from the mopar pcm to stock when towing. He said even though the milage is programmed in, it will still work.
It may throw off your 100,000 mile service code though.
