Subject: True dual setup on R/T ???? IP: Logged
Message: I was wondering about putting a h pipe with 2 high flow cats and a dual cat back(2 mufflers)on a r/t. My question is how will this effect the o2 sensors as far as the check engine light and air fuel ratio goes. Is there a way to trick the computer? I wouldn't want to make the truck run rich or anything.
BTW, I don't own one yet but I'm already researching modifications. I've got a 98 stang gt that I'm going to sale. But I'm already looking for a 02-03 R/T. If anybody knows of one near georgia, please let me know . Thanks.

Message: Running rich could be bad, but I'd be more worried about lean! All rich is going to do is make your truck run like crap, and smoke. Lean will break your truck way faster than rich. You could blow head gaskets, crack heads, crack block. pretty bad things.

Message: You didn't answer his question. Will it affect the operation of the o2 sensor, or anything else? I'm curious as well.

Message: you only need the sensors to be reading one stream in front of and behind the cat. and if you are talking about getting rid of the sensors, get a catbox.

Message: as long as you dont mess with the down pipes that the o2s are plugged into you will be fine.anything after those wont effect them.but get an x-pipe with true duals, and spintech mufflers, you will really enjoy that setup.i have mine set up with an xpipe with not cats into spintech mufflers with a dual side exit in front f the back passenger tire.

Message: Why an X-pipe. Is there some advantage to that over straight pipes?
