Sorry, but I have to disagree. I had an Explorer before I got my Dakota and it couldn't tow for a darn. I have a 21' ultralight camper and to make it up even a slight incline would require a down shift to 3rd and hold to the boards just to make it. It made for some real white knuckle driving. Anyway, got rid of it for the Dakota and I hardly know the camper is back there, night and day difference.

I said it was my brother, not me. He does it all the time though. He does go pretty slow, but seems completely satisfied with the rig. I'm sure he's right at or above the tow capacity most of the time he's towing. He's a 60 year old Navy Captain, so he knows everything. I pull close to 7500 lbs with my Dak sometimes with no problem, but never over 60mph and only with trailer brakes and alot of room to stop it.
