Message: intense' you said your 2000 durango has a 5.2. any idea why the dak has 4.7 and durango has 5.2 in 2000? Now that you have a big block in that thing, would you be able to swap out easily for a 440, or even a dun..dun..dun.. hemi?

Message: no idea why... but the 4.7 was available in a 2000 durango. I think it just depends on when they made it (time of year).
I am gonna keep the 400 block and stroke it next winter with either a 440 crank (452ci) or a 4" crank (472ci). I know the 400 fits and I already have it so I dont see the point in purchasing a whole new motor. Plus the 400 block weighs about 75 lbs lighter than the 440 and hemi.
The only thing i could see about fitting a R/B motor is it would more than likely need custom made headers. While i am gonna do that for my 400 block, i was still able to use factory manifolds on it as of right now... but the passenger's side clearances are close (had to bust out the grinder).
