 Subject: R/T steering wheel buttons???

On my '00 R/T CC steering wheel, behind the cruise control buttons. There are some other buttons on the backside of the wheel. Are these additional cruise buttons or possibly stereo controls? Easy way to tell would be to push them and see what happens but with my luck lately I'd end up blowing something up. Any help would be appreciated.

They are for the stereo. The right side controls are for the the volume. The left side controls the station selection or the cd tracks. They are very handy-you won't have to reach that 8" to the radio. Are we getting lazy, or what? Actually, they are a great safety feature in that you don't have to take your eyes off the road.

I saw some 'unofficial' numbers on a website once that showed only 163 2000 Amber Fire Club Cabs were built. I love have something that stands out in a parking lot and you don't see one like it everytime you drive down the street. By the way, were abouts are you. I'm in Northern Indiana.

I'm currently in central North Carolina. Possibly looking at a divorce and my wife wants to pack the kids and head back to upstate New York. So, I have no idea where I'll be in a year.

Figured I would chime in since we were talking about AMBER FIRE r/ts I have a 2000 cc amber fire also I got it about 2 months ago after about a year of searching for that darn color.
Overthehill I live in Southern Indiana.

Metalgreendak, I did the same thing. I was looking all over and actually found one just outside of Columbus, OH. It was about 5 hours away and I just could bring myself to drive that far and being disappointed. Then in January, I was on e-bay and found one in Muncie with 9200 miles. I called the guy and he told me all about it. Sounded perfect (it was) so I waited 'till the the last day of the auction and called him again. He told me what he wanted out of it and it matched what I was going to offer. I paid $14000.00 and figure I got a good deal. It doesn't matter, thought, I really like the truck, and I haven't seen one like it, yet.

Ya I ended up getting mine in Louisville so I only had about a 2 hour drive. Well worth it I have a few more miles on mine 45000 but I got a deal on it. I actually had to put a credit card # down on it because there where 3 other people waiting if I didn't want it so I took her home. The 2000 production # of the dakotart forum are
46 RC and 165 CC in amber fire. I knew it was low but thats well within reason for me to hold on to this truck as a collector show truck like I plan on.
