Subject: HP upgrades 4.7L IP: Logged
Message: I have a 2000 QC 4x4, flowmaster muffler, K&N filter,
Weld rims, pro comp X-terrain's, 3" lift. Looking for
performance upgrades to increase horsepower and
torque (not towing, just for fun). Headers I know, but
what else can I do? Intake? Chip? Looking for bolt
on's....appreciate any input. Fairly novice, so specifics
help a ton. Thanks.

Message: Change out the cams. Just do a search on H.O. cams. That is about all you can do to get noticable changes.

Message: You'd also see decent gains from a PCM flash - you could get the Mike Leach flash for your '00. You could swap your 65 mm TB for a 68 mm out of a '01; and port it.
Don't expect much of a gain from the available short tube headers for the 4.7.

Message: I wouldn't recommend the KRC 212 cams. The HO cams are the best for toque and horsepower from 200-5500. The newer 03/04 manifolds alos help out even better with the uper rpms. The fast man throttle body 68mm helps to complement the cams and intake. A gear swap also works wonders. Especially if you are running bigger tires. They are expensive, but i feel they are well worth it.
