Message: I have a 99 Dakota with some rear end issues! LOL!!
The rear axle seal is leaking grease into the drum and the brake assembly is coated with a heavy layer of grease. I think that the best way to repair this is to do a brake job on both sides and replace the seals. I am in need of a good online manual or parts fiche to insure that I get all of the required parts. Any ideas???

Message: I have been into my 99 R/T 9 1/4" inch rear end rather recently. I really didn't have any trouble. Make sure you already have the right diff fluid and posi additive (if you have posi) as well as the new seals and brake parts else you will have to go through the hastle of running for parts while she's tore down. Simply remove the rear tires and brake assemblies. Then remove the cover from the diff. You will then have to rotate the rear end till you have access to the bolt that holds the pin for the spider gears. Remove it, the pin, the spider gears, and posi clutches if you have them. Now you have to push the axles toward the diff and remove the c clips. Then just yank the axle shafts out and replace the seals. The reverse puts it back together. It may be different if you have an 8 3/4 inch rear end but I am not familiar with those. Help me out guys if I forgot anything important.
