I'm want to get new plugs put in my Dakota. It's a 2002 Sport with the 4.7 V8. I've read many posts and I really only want to know what works well with a pure stock 4.7 as it's obviously very different from the other V8's (SOHC vs. OHV). I'm assuming the SOCH's will react different to some plugs then the 5.2 or the 5.9. I've been told that they come out of the factory with Platinum Champions but have read posts that platninum plugs will destroy the coils on the plugs. Is this true...why would they put platinum in at the factory then?
So I'm debating whether to put in Bosch Platinums (the regular ones, not the +4's) vs. the NGK G-Power Platinums? I've heard mixed reviews about the Bosch, but haven't heard much at all about NGK.
I'm not interested in putting in Autolites, don't wanna change them again next year.
So input on NGK G-power platinum or BOSCH Platinum would be greatly appreciated.
I'm getting the plugs changed tomm. morning so any speedy reply would be great!!
Thanks
