Subject: console shifter? IP: Logged
Message: Has anyone done this mod? I was thinking the R/T would be a lil more fun to drive with a slap shifter in between the seats. There used to be a company called 'Cheetah SCS' that made aftermarket consoles and shifters for car applications. I think this would be an excellent addition to my truck, much easier to run the tranny than by using the column shift. They were cable operated so you could damn near mount it anywhere. Let me know what you think folks, or if someones already done this give some tips please. (P.S.- I'm still gonna take all the damn R/T badging off my truck, noone will play with me once they see the 5.9 stickers!!!)

Message: I had the same idea for my 4.7l SLT, CC. I already have a console with buckets.
Does any of the 5-spd manual Daks come with a console? This would help with the conversion. I was looking at a Lokar as a possible shifter.
Would also like to know if anyone has done this.

Message: I've got the buckets and console as well (mine's an R/T). Was thinkin about just a nice auto slap shifter on the floor. I'll start some research tomorrow, gotta get to work now. Have a good night folks.

Message: Have you looked at B&M, they make quite a few floor mount ratchet shifters. I had a Mega-shifter, kind of fun slamming between the gears while racing.

Message: i have a B&M Star shifter in my truck... it's Star something. I cannot remember, i got it for free. It's easy to install. You just have to get a little creative and build a bracket to mount the cable on on the tranny.
