Subject: Electrical Problem... IP: Logged
Message: Alright, it seems as though my TDR wasn't the only thing that went bad. The new TDR works and doesn't get hot, but my signals STILL won't flash! What the (%@(&(&%(*&@%%^$#@# gives?! I even pulled a good multiswitch out of my other Dak and stuck into this one. That means I replaced the flasher, TDR, and MS and it still won't flash! They just stay on solid. I have one bulb out and I bought the replacement, and intend on installing it tonight after it cools down. Does anybody know what else (keeping in mind this now perfect circuit is just being ridiculous and hard tog et along with) could cause the turn-signals to just light and not flash? The trouble this thing is giving me is worse than replacing a set of dang connecting-rods!

Message: OK this is just stupid. I replaced all my bulbs and still no flashing. I then got ticked and ripped everything (except fuses) out of my fuse-panel. Then I reinserted the TDR and horn relay. After that I got one final idea, and stuck my hazard flasher in the turn-flasher spot since my hazards worked, and the dang thing worked fine (although flashed too fast)! I then tried the hazards with the turn-flasher in the hazard spot, and they worked fine!! Swapped them back to their original positions and everything works. This was just a waste of time and money, and I don't know why! I had pulled and replaced everything prior to today and nothing made the turn-signals work. Today must've just been magical 'haha you wasted all that time, gas, and money' day and had the problem fix itself. Now I have four spare bulbs and a spare TDR. What kind of luck is THAT?

Message: I have to tell you that you are not alone. I can't even remember the number of times I have gone out to a customer's car to check a problem and as soon as I sit in the car it fixes itself. Then the customer is mad even though we don't charge them a dime for it. As soon as they drive the car home the problem comes back and then they are REALLY mad. It just makes me feel better that someone else has this problem too. By the way, What is the problem?

Message: Like I stated above, the problem was magical fairies. My flashers (turn-signals, NOT hazards) stopped flashing a few months ago. Instead, they'd come on and stay on. Well I replaced all the bulbs, and the turn-signal flasher. I even tried a new multiswitch. Nothing fixed it. Oh, I also replaced the time-delay relay. Then when nothing fixed the problem, I got ticked and pulled the TDR, turn-flasher, horn-relay, and hazard-flasher out of the fuse-box inside the cab. Naturally, that didn't fix my problem. Finally, I got cocky and put everything back in, but I put the hazard-flasher in my turn-flasher spot, and vice-versa with the turn-flasher. Now magically my hazards and my turn-signals work. I swap them back to their original (and proper) positions, and they both STILL work!
To summarize, the two flashers got together and decided they wanted to swap places for a moment, and I blew q bit of cash trying to figure out what was wrong. I now have a spare TDR, spare bulbs, spare flasher, and if I don't reinstall the multiswitch on my old Dakota, a spare MS.
