Finally after all the talk and haggling I purchased my truck and I have to say that I love it. It's an intense blue 00 CC/RT with 44,000KM on it, with one owner and no accidents. It has a hard tonneau cover and the rest of the vehicle is stock, so no worries about that. I paid 20,790$ CAN for it which I think is pretty good being that the going rate is usually between 21,000$ and 25,000$.

Couple of things I've noticed; the transmission is pretty violent when shifting from drive and reverse (not that I mind seeing as how it is a truck, it's just a little jerky but there is no noise), it idles kind of high at about 750-800rpm I expected it to idle lower.

Either way I am most pleased with my purchase, it's the first rwd vehicle I've owned and also the first v8. I love the sound and I can break traction anywhere I choose under any conditions.

Incase you are wondering I traded in my 2001 Prelude for this truck and I'm now getting a 500$ rebate from ICBC and that's after I lowered my collision deductable from 1000$ to 500$.

$20,790 CD = $15,440 USD
44,000 km = 27342 miles
If the truck is in nice condition then that's about right, especially with a hard lid.

hmmmm...well, I just got my dakota a week ago and every extreme I've pulled up next to has backed down so far. I have a guy I work with that wants to run me with his stang ('01 v-6, chip, headers and dual exhaust). Any suggestions on what to do with it when I take it from him? I've heard they make good anchors. btw, mine's a '00 5.9 SC R/T.

I wouldn't worry too much about a v6 mustang even with all his "performance" gear.

Yeah, V6 Mustangs suck. I raced one once in my 99 r/t, and it was bad. By the time I hit 30 mph, I got over in front of him! Stayed in it till about 80 mph, and I couldn't count the number of car lengths I had him by:)

Sounds good folks, I wasn't concerned about a lil ol V-6. Somethings not right with this guy though, he's talkin almost 300 hp out of his set up in the stang. Either he's got more done to it or he knows less than I do about engines, either way should be a blast.

Yeah, I wouldn't worry if I were you. Have you practiced any? You know launching, tire pressure, etc? You might not need to racing him, but wait till you come across something that will actually be a race.

Glad you like your truck. My 2000 R/T idles about the same. I just make shure my foot is on the brake when I shift into forward or reverse. One thing I learned real quick is if you want to jump on it without light'n em up, get it rolling a little first. Good tires are expensive.

Sorry about the apparent typo SC as in supercab. I'm not all that new to racing but never in a truck, weight and balance are different. Have messed around with some launches, not too bad. The 275/55/17's help alot, even if they are Bridgestones they're still wide enough too grab some pavement and go. I'm guessing he's not into engines very much, after he rode in it and heard the dual exhaust he later asked me what size V-6 I had in it!!! I'm assuming he was just messin with me, there is NO WAY to mistake the growl of a 5.9 with the whine of a V-6. Anyway, should be fun to play with for awhile. thanks folks

300HP V6 mustang... obviously he doesn't know what he is talking about. That would cost a ton of money and it wouldn't be worth it for anyone, sounds like a guy I know at work who is always bragging about how his Cavalier has a "hidden" supercharger.
