Subject: gran fury 318 to dakota. will it work? IP: Logged
Message: i have an 88 plymouth gran fury that i bought for the 318 that is in it. i was woundering if the 318 from the two wheel drive will bolt up to a four-wheel drive standard 88 dakota trany.

Message: If it's the V6 Dakota, the bolt pattern is the same as the 318. The crank in the 318 has probably not been drilled for the bushing needed when using a standard transmission, so this would have to be done. The crank bushing/bearing must be in place or the tranny pilot shaft will seize in the crank.
