the only reason chevy can claim highest hp half ton is because the dumped the 6.2L in it
so you wont get 400hp and 21 mpg as the ads will mislead you
you get 313 hp and 21 mpg
dodge has 380 hp and 21 mpg
which would you rather have?

Well Dodge should dump there 6.1 under the hood of there half ton truck!!
But the Dakota still got the power advantage even with a smaller V8. Still wouldn't mind the Hemi option.

forget the 6.1L! We need a larger 7.0 Litre Hemi with MDS and with a lot more toruqe for the HD.

they had the v-10 option until 03 for 300 hp and like 400 tq
but they killed that off because sales sucked
and anyone wanting to do some serious pulling now goes diesel
in 94 when the introduced the v-10 it had more hp and equal tq as the cummins at the time
from what i hear it pulled better as well
BUT, now with 350 hp and 650 tq at 18 mpg
why would anyone want 300hp and 410tq at 12 mpg?

The V10 was in the Ram was rated at 450 ftbls and then by 03 it had 440 ftlbs. I guess it couldn't meet emision standards.

Kyle, Where did you find a cyclone truck? If it is what I'm thinking of, I've only seen those in Mexico. Ford has one, think they call it the Courier, and so does VW. And it looked like a watered down version of the SSR. Like it was a car based truck like an El Camino or something.

AlexG, i bleieve the Cyclone he's talking about was GMC's S-15 w/ a very potent turbo charged 4.3 and AWD. a little tuning and less than a grand in mods and they will run 12's all day long.

Seems like I remember the GMC Cyclone. But I think it only had a stock 4.3 V6.
Also to give some answers about the 8 litre V10 it was a cast iron version of the Viper. As a matter of fact the big 488 that was put in the Ram is the original although the 10 in the Viper hit the streets first.
From what I've herd other people say when talking fuel milage in HD 2500 Rams. I've herd has high as 15 and near 16 on the hwys. And about 9 in the city.

Yep a turbo charger really helps over supercharger. Remember a SC uses the engine HP to make HP.
I wonder if there are any TB R/T's out there. Now that really would be bad ares!
