Subject: 4.7 ABS and Brake light fix IP: Logged
Message: Here is a question for all you DC techs out there.
I replaced my PCM with a used one to get back to a non-death flashed PCM.
Of course the ABS and Brake light came on in about 1/2 a km of driving.
Read on this forum that the VIN and mileage needed to be input.
Took my truck in tonight and sat with the DC tech as he tried to get rid of the lights. He tried all he could but the lights will not go out. He thinks it's the ABS controller (which also has the VIN) that's the problem. He suggests I try to get the ABS controller from the same used Dak as the PCM. A new ABS controller is 407 CDN. Not a viable solution.
I'm going to try and see if I can get the used ABS controller from the same used truck but as I bought the PCM a year ago I don't think the controller is still available.
The tech said if a new ABS controller is installed then the VIN needs to be downloaded into it. Is this true?
How can he change the VIN in the PCM and the ABS control that are in my truck?
Sorry for the long post.
Brian
