I'm thinking of going with a high flow cat for my exhaust but haven't heard of anyone with a 4.7L trying this.
Any pro's or cons. I have already replaced my muffler with a Flowmaster 40 series Delta flow last year but it's not loud enough. Debating on going dual or just replace cat?

I just replaced mine with a Catco High Flow. I also have a 40 series Flowmaser. It got a bit louder, not much.

Do not replace your cat with a high-flow.

Personally I would just leave it alone...if you remove it all together and straight pipe it, the loss in backpressure is gonna kill the low-end, but you will see midrange to high RPM gains.

A good friend of mine who works at our local muffler shop had done the swap before for someone to a carsound high-flow...when he compared the two cats, OEM vs Carsound, he found them to not be much different when cut open. When I asked him about swapping mine out he said save the cash.

If you are looking to be louder, remove the cat and straight pipe it, but the performance losses in doing so I feel are not worth it.

Just my 2 cents.

There is a guy on ebay that has an ebay store selling carsound cats. I think he sells magnaflow mufflers and cat-backs as well. I'm probably going to go through him when I upgrade my exhaust from 2.5" to 3" all the way. I free flow cat is well worth it. I noticed more change in power from the free-flow than anything else i've done.
