Topped out at 115mph on stock 5.2L '99 Dak 4x4. Had the pedal to the floor and just would not go any faster. I did not detect any limiting at all.

01 Dak QC limiter was at 95mph feels like ignition spark shut off to me. I read that the computer cuts power to the fuel pump? Don't know but don't like it!! Gator

I have a 2001 R/T and i can definitely tell you the speed limiter on mine is 115 mph. my rev limiter is 5500 rpm's and i was only at 4200 rpm's @ 115 mph and the fuel was shutoff for a few seconds. i could probably do about 145 or 150 without the damn speed limiter. i know you can buy a jet chip which bumps up the rev limiter about 500 rpm's and removes the top speed limiter.

Looks like the '02 PCM for the 4.7L auto is different than the older ones. What is the part number on your PCM Throttle?

I have a 99 r/t, and since its supercharged, it loves the highway... i have taken it to 115 then boom, its cuts out so hard you get thrown forward a little bit. i wonder what i could hit without it.... hmmm

to be honest here in the US we don't have an auto bon and driving that fast only leads to problems and if anyone out there thinks that they won't get caught that they can out run the cops is a retard, i don't care how fast your vehicle can go you ain't outrunning the cops, put your time to something more fun if you like speed go to the local race track and get your 0-60 time to about 5 seconds, do it safely and legally. I had a saleen for a time and hit 130 in it and it felt like i was gonna lose control in a dakota you will be wrecking before you know it

I have a 99 5.2 auto 4x4 CC. I, as well as the great colorado state patrol out of parachuet Colorado both know that my truck doesn't have a limiter on it that is anywhere belowe 125. I got the truck used stock, or as far as I know. It now has K&N intake and Gibson dual exausht. I got gunned at 124, which was my foot to the floor on flat ground, and stayed there, damn shame the CO state troopers cars are limited at 118(or so I have been told) so I got pulled over about 40 miles later for euleding the police. What are cops doing out at 3 am anyway.

V6-it cut at 100, well didn't really cut, but it would go no further, and an Expedition beat me, just cuz that. :( got pulled over a little after but it wasn't related to that, was my exit ramp behavior.

2002 Dak CC (built 12/01) 4.7L auto with a speed limit of 98MPH (+-/1MPH) It was like hitting a wall. From the feel of it, I am guessing they shut off fuel and spark but as soon as the truck dropped below 98 it came back to life. This was just a test and don't plan on doing it again. I'd rather just kick a Mustang GT's ass from 0-60 ;^>

With my new PCM on I went over 120 and kept going...Kenne Bell said it shuts down at 135...dunno how fast I was going but w/ it mashed to the floor it kept going. Got a little too fast so I let off. Wish I would've had someone w/ a laser gun to clock me.

2000 RT w/Mopar PCM-- Have done 136.9 mph (GPS)-- have gone faster. Not recommended-- you can die quickly-- I have Hotchkis suspension-- I would have never attempted it with the stock suspension.
Stock was 112 mph--

My 2002 Quad Cab is definately limited to 98 mph. Like someone said earlier, it is like hitting a wall. With the automatic, you hit 98 just before, sometimes just after, hitting 4th gear. There's another 20+ mph left in this truck, anyone know of a cheap way to remove this dilema?

Why do some seem to have a limiter and some do not. I do not see a pattern such as year,tranny,or rear end ratio. Mine is a 2000 QC auto 4.7 3.92 and it shuts down at 98 mph. What gives here.

In my 1998 dakota with a 5.2 I hit a 115 with a 4 wheeler in bed and it kept on climbing. Might of gone faster but I had to slow down for a stop sign. Funny thing was trans didn't shift into O/D until I hit a 110.

there is a rpm limiter. your controller retards your ign timming and injector pulse. there is no way of (shutting it off). it is there to protect dum asses like you from causing your engine from flying apart. just change your rear end ratio and trans. ratios.

My 4.7 CC cruises great at 98 MPH, Its not that unsafe at all just pay attention to the road your on and make sure you don't hit big bumps at 120 plus
I can say I've been 157 MPH , Mazda RX-7 R1
Put the other guy who wanted to race headlights out of sight, Shifted to 5th at 135 and had plenty to go........
But I still like my Dodge alot more

I have a 1992 318.Ive heard rumors that some dakotas when they shut down you cant start them up again without resetting some fuse or ship in the truck. Is this fact or myth?

Mopar PCM =) My gov is at 255...but I know I'll never hit that lol.
I was limited at 115 with my stock computer. 93 Dakota 318, Auto 3.55 gears.
Now with my new PCM, MSD, K&N Intake the fastest I've hit before backing off was 121....that was scary as hell in a truck with stock susp.

Guess what ya'll I do have auto-bahns, and my '02 4.7 had a 115 mph speed limiter when i got it here. Sent the PCM to KB and had it raised to 135 mph. The truck is stable and runs as well at 120+ as it does at 60 mph. Doesn't get squirlly or hard to handle or float around. In fact it's run like that every day. The only problem is 16 mpg. OH WELL to BAD.

I'm lucky enough to have a 91, no limiter. I can do about 130. The enough problem I have is the rev limiter.
