it really all depends on who you get the stuff from... on the cost.. i still have yet to get it dynoed.. im planning on doing it before i put my supercharger on.. i know right now that i am hitting 13's because of my competition.. (i have beaten plenty of mustangs 5.0 and i beat a turboed 1.8 piece of ricer[with cold air intake and exhaust] and a couple other unsurprising stuff) im guessing with all my mods i have around 295 hp or close to it.. hopefully ill get all i can get out of my future kenne bell and get around 410-420 hp and 475-480 torque) r/t torque is already high and the supercharger should send higher numbers than hp is showing.
before anyone challenges those stats[does seem alot] i only did a quick estimate and kenne bell does promise 136 hp for the 5.9 and several higher numbers of torque

Just curious what did you get and pay for your headers? I had a 72 Charger SE it was my first car not as sweet as a 68 though!

I guess mr. haugt, or whoever it was gave up on the original post. either that or some dakota owner now owns his stampede. as far as the Xtreme butt head goes, I have a 99 5.2 4x4, stock except that I took off the entire cold air box system and put on an old time chrome edlebrock air cleaner(10"x 2 1/2") and took off the muffler and am running a straight pipe all the way back. It easily beat a 5.0 gt mustang and when I shifted into 5th at 115mph the mitsubishi (how ever you spell it) 3000 gt gave up. maybe he would like to try off road huh? by the way I am in Albuquerque NM. lots of desert to play in. come on mr. extremeracer (how stupid is that user name, in a chevy xtreme, pah_leesss!)how would you like to come and play! lets just keep this a DAKOTA site. thanks for hearing me out. I'm sorry for any misspelled words!

Bone stock,
I got my JBA's used for $200.00. They already have 35K on them. So far I have had no problems with them.
I almost bought a 71 R/T Charger. A friend of mine told me about it in a guy's barn. I went and looked at it and someone had painted it blue with latex paint. I peeled the latex off and underneath that blue house paint was PLUM CRAZY!!!
I had just built the engine in my 68 and was short on cash. The guy said he would take $1,500.00. I came back 2 weeks later and he changed his mind. I did a vin tag search on the car and it was a factory 6pack Air-Grabber Plum Crazy Charger. The car had been stored for over 10 years and had no rust on it. The only thing missing was the 6pack intake and carbs. I still haven't gotten over that.
I hounded that guy for 3 years to sell that car and I finally gave up. He was an unemployed biker nick named "Snake".

hey frank mine is stock too i want to put a magnaflow dual exhaust system on mine . comes with everything an cost $566 . with just that you think it would put a little pep in her? should i got with the air cleaner too? i have the same 99 5.2 truck its a sport.

i have a 98 dakota slt 3.9l i put on a k&n intake system and a 50 series flowmaster my truck has off roading tires i need some good street tires but anyway i timed it 0 to 60 in 8.6 sec is that bad even thought i has off road tires?

that seems like a good time justin. i finally got my computer back from B&G for my R/T! got the M1 flash. im about to go plug that thing in now. i cant freakin wait ill let u all know how it goes and how the truck feels. so anxious lol!! i hope i get results as good as everyone else on this board. i better for $430. lata.

well i just got back and damm it sure did make the most noticeable difference of any mod i have done. it shifted at 5400rpm and has much more torque down low

Hey blue99dakotap: Mine runs good but remember I'm in Albuquerque (1-mile above sea level). I try to run 2-1Qt. cans of turbo 108 octane boost with every third tank of premium. I dont know what the 1/4 mile time or speed is. I also just done putting on some INTERCO tire,s. They make the super swamper and TSL series of tires. Mine are the trXus M/T's 31x10.50x15. Nice aggressive tread with mud slinging side lugs. They stand a little taller than the factory goodyears,(mine were cheaterslicks in back.)so I lost some acceleration and cornering, but I love the off road abilities. As far as using/losing the air box, it works for me. However, remember that with the air box your intake air is mostly comming from outside the truck. With the regular cleaner/filter the intake air is from under the hood. Under the hood air is hotter than air from outside(normally). The colder the air the better. (as loing as you don't freeze the fuel.) so in my case at this altitude (the air is thinner as you go higher) it works for me because of increased air flow. My next step will be (hopefully) a true ram air or cowl induction hood/scoop to get more cooler air. Good luck with it. By the way mine is a white extra cab (4x4 5-speed) sport with red and grey stripping along the sides and DAKOTA sport lettering on the doors. I added a red 4X4 sticker from PEP BOYS under the sport sticker on the doors. Along with my #3 decals (long live the memory of Earnhardt!) on the rear slider and rear vent windows and the "rubbing is racing" sickers on the rear corners. Damn, I must be some kind of redneck. (from N.Y. living in N.M). Well, it's time to climb a hillor two, be back later.

Enough for the "eubonics", Please speak plain English. If I was going to spend my money on building an engine I would build a V-8 anyday. Just remember this "There is NO REPLACMENT for DISPLACEMENT". Yeah, sure you can spray and supercharge those things, but why waste your money when a small block chevy will do the same for about 2500$?

everyone at the www.s-10forum.com is saying that everyone that owns a dakota is a flamming fagg and would never be able to come cloose to a s-10 in a race if u think ur dakota is worth talking about go to the s-10 site and talk it over with ppl who have real trucks

All this talk about s-10 xtremes I had one come up on me two days ago while I was cruising down the highway at about 70 and he paces back and forth right next to me trying to get me to race finally I got mad enough and left him about a half mile behind. He probably realized he made a big mistake trying to race a R/T on the highway.

Count yourself as lucky, I'm gonna take all the badging off my R/T because I can't get anyone to play with me. I've lined up with 4-5 Xtremes in the past 2 weeks and they've all backed down. This sucks, no fun for me
