To each his own, I love my RT and I love my rice burner. They are two different worlds, but I tend to keep my Honda looking clean just like my Dakota. I plan on putting some money in my Dakota to bring it to the 13's daily driver, where my Honda is right now with a new trans. I also plan on rebuilding a nice classic Muscle Car, like a Nova, or SS for my little Brother. I like to think I you should be more about motorsports and not about a V8 or 4 cylinder. The technology that the 4's are putting out can be used in a V8, but they still refuse because of narrow thinking. Hang out sometime with someone that is not a complete ricer, I would like to think I am not, and you will be surprised how much fun can be had in one of these econo boxes be it on a drag strip or a auto-x course. Keep an open mind.

Nice truck by the way Mojo you can check mine out at DTW under the same name. Thinking of getting that same hood, just not sure if it performs better then a regular FIPK.

yea i need some help i went over to the s-10forum.com and told them that my dakota smoked an extreme and now theyy rsaying that all dakotas r pieces of crap and couldnt hold up in a race against an extreme even if the extreme didnt hav a motor someone go over there and prove them wrong

Yea, talking trash on a s-10 site will do that. The same thing would happen if a s-10'er came here and talked trash about kotas. We all know which truck is better :) No V8 magnum in those little striped extremes...
Well said earlier DakotaRT03. My little brother has an Eagle Talon that is somewhat riced out. He has a $1500 turbocharger in it, the thing can boogey. I have driven his and it does nothing for me. Maybe it's just because ricers are not too well taken in, in Northern Michigan. Most of the ricers here (I'm not saying everyone who drives one) are punk kids who try to race every car at the stoplight. For me, there's a difference between getting behind the wheel of a muscle car and a compact car, big difference. Ricer burners don't do nothing for me in terms of looks or driving. I'd like to think I've kept an open mind on it.
Good luck on your Nova project, that will be a blast. Nova's and Chevelles rock. Later.

I agree. When it comes to autos, I'm also pretty open-minded. As long as they're not riced out, I have no problem with Hondas, Toyotas, Nissans, etc. Even thought about buying a Civic at one time. In fact, I know a few Civics where I'm at that will absolutely murder my r/t:( I pretty much like everything; European exotics, Japanese imports, American musclecars, trucks, everything. Just as long as they're done right, and not fixed up like "everyone elses". I know people with gay trucks, Camaros, and Mustangs too. I just prefer the tried and true- rear wheel drive, and a big 'ol V8:)

i have never raced a dakota i just fill like i should knot waist my gas on something so slow and ugly i come from the www.s-10forum.com that justin kid came over there bragging on how he raced an extreme and beat it personaly even if he had a k&n intake system and a flowmaster on his 98 v6 dakota it doesnt matter a extreme could out run any dakota that tryed to get near it bottum line dakotas arnt sh*t

Extreme wrote, "Dakotas arn't sh*t" (his spelling by the way). Well extremeracer, not all Dakotas are used for racing, many are off-roaders such as mine. Take your "s-10 extreme" off road against a Dakota and we'll see who's truck is pulling out who's. Or how about a towing contest? There's more to trucks than speed. Besides, s-10 extremes have never been known to be faster than dakota r/t's. You do know R/T's are equipped with 5.9 V8's right?

i had a 92 s-10, a 94 ranger, an now a 99 dakota, An hands down the dakota is a mans truck the others where just tonka toys. The s-10 had problems with rust an when i put in a sun roof the roof was as thin as a dime. The ranger was great until 118,000 then i had to shift from 5ft to 3rd to make the hills. SO i bought my Dakota only problem so far was ball jionts. What a differnce in power an room . Just was time to buy a truck an am happy with a TRUCK.

(waste of gas) i guess if hes talking this much crap though ill go ahead and rev my engine next to him on the line.. and we'll see if his pants are still dry.. right now im racing all the turbo ricers and beating them... so i guess ill go back to racing trucks if these f@ggots think they are all that.. sht you can put a turbo on an s-10 ill still waste it..
by the way DakotaRT03 the K&N hood i have their is best functional K&N filter out there... its not only 100% straight to the filter.. but the filter is acutally sticking out of the hood also.. and it looks kool :)

That is good to know, maybe I will just get that instead of getting the FIPK. Save the 200 Bones and put it toward that hood and intake. Guess it all balances out 600 for the hood and 250 for the intake. Is that about right? Did you dyno it with the hood? What are you running with your truck?

Whiplash, I think I have got you beat as far as a stock R/T goes. I bought my 03 in December of 02 and havn't done zip to it.Although I never seem to drive it either. I have only put on 3200 miles on it in near a year and a half and it had 7 on it when I got it. I had a 2000 before this one and had done a fare amount of mods to it. I kinda bagged the potatoes out of it and had a lot of fun with it but the new one is just going to sit.

Bone Stock,
All I have is headers. I got them cheap. Otherwise, it would still be stock. I do plan to do some upgrades to it. I really want a donor engine that I can build outside the truck. That way I can do everything I want to do to the engine and then just swap engines when I'm finished.
Then when I sell the truck and can swap the original motor back in.
That's what I did with my 1968 Charger.
