Subject: Rubber Question!! IP: Logged
Message: I was looking around for a new set of tires and came across 3 that got good ratings and looked good too!
Kumho Ecsta Stx 275/60/15
Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 255/60/15
Pirelli Scorpion Zero 255/65/15
Has anyone used any of these tires before? And are the 275's too big for my truck? Let me know!!
Thanks guys!

Message: Had Firestone Firehawks on my '92. Terrible wear. Went to Goodrich T/A's and were wearing very well when I sold the truck.

LuvmeR/T,
Do you think that the 275/60/15's would be too big? They dont make the 255's in a 15".
I'm prolly just going to have to go with the Pirelli's.

Message: rooknute,
im guessing that the 15s are 8 inches wide,so 275 would be great.i wouldnt go any wider than that.and 60 sounds about right for the sidewall.oh,and pirelli is a great tire.
R/T in DC,
255=tread/tire width 55=height of sidewall
17=size of the rim.
i have seen on here that people say they have put 305/35/17 and 315/35/17 on the OE wheels,but i dont know if i would try that.295/55/17 fit great,that will be the size of my next set.

Message: The R/T I just bought has 275/55r17's all the way around on the stock 5 spokes. They look good but I'm lookin for sumthin to launch better. Need to find a good compromise between grip and wear, these Bridgestones won't last very long I think(mischievous grin)

Message: I recently replaced the BFG Sport Truck T/A's on my 99 w/5.2 with the Pirelli, so far very happy. The wet and dry traction is a major improvement. If you like to spin your tires from a stop you will be disapointed, the Zero's hook up a lot quicker.

Message: Well, as much as I do like to spin them, I'm getting real tired of not getting good starts off the line cause of the truck spinning. I've tried to start at different RMP's, Tried starting at idle, nothin is working so I think i'm going with the Pirelli's.
Does anyone know a place to get them for less than 100 each? The cheapest i found for the size i want is 100 bucks shipped!?
