Subject: Fuel Injectors IP: Logged
Message: I just bought some fuel injectors off ebay for $85. They are Ford 24# off a SVT(?)mustang. Actually the guy said he used them in his 95 z-28 Camaro I own a 94 Dak 5.2, will these injectors fit my Dak. I guess I should have checked before I bought them but the auction was ending. Any thoughts?

Message: They most likely will fit, but the real question is; why. What mods do you have that you feel the need for larger injectors?

Message: I'm ready to put on a CGS FIPK, 1.7 roller rockers, 180 thermosthat, 3923 plugs, MSD ignition, taylor wires, Tri-Phase module and eventually headers, freeflow cat and a cat back exhaust. I just figured while I'm doing the r/r I might as well do the injectors also.

Message: Sounds good, but probably won't need the injectors until the exhaust is freed up.

Message: According to sources on the jeep internet site the 92-93 318 used #22 injectors. 94-95 used #24 lb injectors. I thought my computer died on my 94 so I put my 93 computer on. the truck ran rich most of the time, especialy at idle.
you should purchase an air fuel gauge for you truck and see how the injectors run now. then swap injectors and see how it runs. my guess is that they are the same size....

Message: UMM,
I know what you mean but I couldn't wait at the price I got them for. I figured I could always resell them if they didn't work. New injectors from Ford motorsports are 270.00. For $85 I can take the risk.

Message: $85.00 is a good price. You will have them when or if you ever do need them. With the 5.2L you probably won't ever need them.
Like was said earlier, you need to check the air/fuel. Since the system is a closed loop system the computer will adjust the air/fuel itself during normal cruising conditions. The only time the air/fuel will be off is during warm-up-mode (open loop) and wide-open-throttle (open loop). The WOT is where you need to focus on and that will require sustaining the WOT long enough to get a good reading through out the RPM range. A good Performance Shop that has a dyno should be able to handle this.
