I just bought an 02 4.7 Dakota. Ths is my first Dodge and I have always drove Chevy, and still have one as a show truck. I know with the Chevy's there were a lot of small things that could be done to add power. Is there anything I can do for cheap to get more out of my Kota. With the Chevy I know you can turn the factory air box into a ram air setup and some other things. This is my new daily driver so I don't want to do too much yet but any modification is better than stock. Thanks,

Randy,

Welconme to the crowd.

The best place for me to start telling you about free, or nearly free ways to squeeze alittle juice out of our 4.7's, is to point you to the search box, at the top of every board, as in this one, v8 dakotas. Just put in things like 'home brew air intake , 4.7, and you should get a wealth of knowledge.

It often helps to go about it this way, rather than wait for replies, you can read about what others have tried, what's worked, what's not, dyno proven results, etc. form the years past. NOt that many years for the 4.7 mind you.

Good luck! With very little TLC, it's a sweet engine!

Hey PSSDOFF,

You're stupid, you don't know how to write, you don't know how to spell and you use filthy language. And you wonder why no one wants to talk/write to you. Now you know!

Wow Vic, get a grip!
There's HO camshafts available. They're easier to change on these SOHC motors than on OHV engines and you can get quite a boost/dollar spent. There's the Mopar cams or KRC performance offers reground cams with even higher power gains. There's performance throttle bodies, K&N performance intakes, various manufacturer's hi-flow exhaust systems, PCM reprogramming, superchargers and even sparkplugs that fire better.
It all depends on your budget. Here's some links:
