Is there an aftermarket stainless tube for the intake if you are using the stock box?? A piece from the box to the throttlebody??? I don't wanna be a plumbing redneck. I looked in the phone book I suppose you can have a piece bent. How about a high gloss black powder coating to go on that tube??

How about that flex stuff you use to use for
exhaust pipe when you were a kid and your first
car? I'm sure they make it in 4".

Just joking aj. Chrome or stainless kits would
look better than some of the pictures I've seen
of home brew ones.

I am already using that fennco plumbing snorkle, i cleaned it up with some wax and put the plain side up. It looks almost like an actual car part.
I want a nice looking tube from the stock box. Guess you gotta have it specially made.

I'm not sure changing it to stainless steel is a good idea because it holds the heat and everything that I've heard is that you want to keep the air entering the engine as cool as possible. That's why everyone is spending $$'s on the K&N FIPK and making their own CAI kits. You can wrap it, but then it can look cheesy.

Just my two cents worth.

I would settle for anything that isn't plumbing pipe.
I am a sub contractor and I work around plumbers alot. We have been laughing and having a great time with thhe plumbing aspects of the 4.7.
Ken, one of the plumbers, is a big time hot rod car guy, really smart, engineer type guy.
If I use pvc on the truck I am in for a pounding from those guys. Although they do like the Fennco no hub, that idea is a good one and it works well.

Do a Google search on "Vibrant Air Intake". I had written down the following part numbers also: 2173, 2176, 2181B. I can't guarantee the accuracy though, these were notes I'd written long enough ago that I can't remember which tube went were. If I recall, there was some cutting on the tube(s) required.

I sure do like this 4.7. i just bought it, traded a 3.9. It is a totally different truck even though they are the same body style.

360 air intakez sell 3.5" and 4.0" aluminum tubes that you cut down to fit for different intakes. I bought one from ebay from somebody that had already cut it to fit for a 4.7L. I think it was for about $30 or $40. Then I bought one of these cheap intake kits off of ebay.

This too was about $40 or $45. I didn't like the small air filter so I bought a K&N air filter for $40 that was the same exact one for the K&N intake.
All together It cost me $120.
It looks very similar to the Airraid setup but it has the aluminum tube.
The tube makes it look nice but the open air filter is what gives it that aggressive sound

aj, sully just reminded me that 360airintakez came out with a "quieter" intake that used a drop-in filter, and a tube from the filter box to the TB. Check that out if it makes sense. Last I looked it still seemed expensive for what you got.
