Subject: Adaptor plate for a edlebrock intake? IP: Logged
Message: I have a 91 dak with the 318. I've heard you can put on an edlebrock intake and put an adaptor plate on it so the throttle body will bolt on. I was wondering if anyone has done this, and if anyone knows where to get an adaptor plate

Message: Have you tried a local speed shop? If they can't get you one, you can have one made at a machine shop. If you have time to play with it, you can make your own with a 1/2" aluminum plate, drill bit, and a hole saw to cut the two holes for the 2bbl throttle body.
Any speed shop should have one. There are several classes of racing that require a 2bbl carb which isn't much different from a 2bbl throttle body as far as bolting up is concerned. The 2bbl to 4bbl adapter is quiet commmon. If Super Shops was still in business you could go there. Many of the Super Shops stores are still open, they just aren't called Super Shops anymore. We still have one where I live. It's called Lucky Motor Sports now.

This link might be helpful. It ties in with what Wip is talking about. Scroll down. There's a pic of an adapter plate that helps. The main proble is that damned offset bolt pattern on the stock TBI.
