Subject: Qustion about Drag racing suspension.... IP: Logged
Message: My first question is, does anyone know how much the drop is with a v6 2in lowering spring on an R/T. Im thinking its going to be about a 2 inch drop because the r/t is already lowered by one inch, so with 2 inch v6 springs then factor in the weight that is 3 inchs out of the spring. In theory the truck will sit 2 inchs lower then factory. Also with me not having the a/c, tubing, compressor and condenser its up in the air. Also if anyone is using them how is the handling, im keeping the sway bar on. Just going to loosen the top bolts at the track. I have alot of buddys that run this setup on there drag cars like camaros and such. Just wondering what it will ride like with a 4000 lb truck.
My second question is what type of material do you think these blocks are made out of? I got them off a guy a while back but i never found out. There aluminum but i cant make out if there Cast or Extruded. What yall think, also any guys running extruded with out issues of breaking. I want to go with steel but ive heard the extruded are just as hard. So if i have free ones laying around why not use them.

Message: they are cast, extrusion would be so expensive you could probably gold plate steel ones cheaper.
