Subject: low power IP: Logged
Message: Hello from the UK.
I have an auto 5.2 v8, imported from Michigan.
It seems to need a lot of revs to get moving, I know the cat is shot, I have a new one to install when time is found, has anybody had this tipe of problem, and do you think the cat is to blame?
Thanks
Andy

Message: the old 318. That motor is a proved work horse for dodge. I had a 318 in my 79 dodge van and my friend had one in his 65 dodge when we were in HS.
If the motor is in good shape I would replace the exhaust if it looks bad.
look forthrottle response fixes. I put the fennco plumbing fix on my intake diverted air to the fennco and it works pretty good.
Get some air to that thing.
If your exhaust is old and rusted replace the pipes also. Rust and corrosion also impede air flow.
