Subject: Front Tow Hooks IP: Logged
Message: I own a 2003 Dakota quad cab SLT+. I have noticed that there are to holes below the fog lights. Is that were tow hooks go? I would like to put tow hooks on the front of my truck but I can't find out were to buy them. Do I need a mount for the hooks or can I just buy the hooks and mount them to the frame. After looking at it, I can't figure it out. Any Ideas of what to do and were to buy?

Message: I don't know why the holes are below the fog lights and I have never seent a 97 or later Dakota with front tow hooks on it. I have an accessory book from 97 which shows front tow hooks, frame mounted for $160.00 each. Picture shows them comming up from the bottom of the frame to the inside of each fog light. It was number 38 in the book (same number for the Ram in its accessory book).

Message: This subject has been beaten to death on more than one occasion. If you do a search, you'll find dozens of answers, and some great pictures on how to do it. If you want the hooks, it's worth your time.

Message: Thanks. I did a search and the results were kind of old. I thought there may be some updated info, like aftermarket stuff. Any websites I can look at? Thanks for the help.

Message: Nahh. Wish there was. But I know somebody here has posted some excellent pictures and instructions on how to build some from (I think) Chevy parts.

Message: I'm not aware of any made specifically for our trucks. I bought a chrome set from JC Whitney for about $20 and fabricated my own steel brackets. They look pretty good and I get questions about them all the time. They were a PIA to make, especially with a 3" body lift, but look pretty good.
