Rob C - I don't believe I'm trashing anything; seems to be a very well thought out flash. For the power gains you might want to check out the dyno graph's for a similarly equiped 4.7 on KRC's excellent web site. I have the HO cams too, but not the exhaust mods as on their example. The power gain with these mods is pretty good with no sacrifice to drivabilty or reliability; and although I won't likely get a sniffer test in my state, I suspect it isn't too bad on emissions either. If I had a problem with that I could just swap in the boneyard PCM I got for $80 to run the truck with while the flash was being done.

alashaman, What is it with you and duct tape? Is that all you have in your toolbox or did you spring for the deluxe toolbox with the BFS and BFH?
Kowalski, that's what I'm talking about with the PCM flashes, you have decent power, driveability and probably emissions but, if the programmer had been aiming for maximum power gains you probably wouldn't have those qualities. You'd probably have more power but, the engine wouldn't be a good daily driver. If you could select max power for a situation and then go back to a more balanced program for everyday driving you probably would.
I'm not trashing your PCM flash, heck I might be getting my PCM flashed if Edge is just stringing me along but, what I'm saying is if they do come out with a system for the 4.7, those of us that still have the stock PCM might want to consider the Edge option. Especially if you have the "death flash".
You think it sounds expensive but, $350+ to have someone take your PCM and flash different code on it, isn't exactly cheap. I plan to keep in touch with Edge but, I thought there'd be 4.7 owners interested in this and would be willing to take the time to let Edge know that they want this as another option to having their PCM flashed. Is that so wrong?

No, but a lot of people interested in this probably know they already have some viable possibilities, and since the 4.7 spark is managed diferently from most other motors it wouldn't likely be one of the first offerings. If you have the impression that Edge would jump right into this for the 4.7 before offering the product for simpler, more common gas engines, then they are stringing you along. There's a big jump in technology going from diesel to gas aplications; and another jump applying it to the 4.7. I think most people would feel they had a better chance encouraging a company already doing something similar for gas engines to apply that to the 4.7. You don't seem to appreciate just how far diesel technology is removed from our 4.7s.

Rob C, what is good but has a dark side and binds the universe together...

and why waste toolbox space, thats is what shelving is for...

and we still need a PCM programmer for the 4.7

The crank sensor on the 4.7 reads an irregular signal.

There was a discussion about this on the delphi board, it's why you don't see any FAST or DFI controlled trucks yet with the 4.7L. The number of/ordering of the notches in the crank's wheel don't match traditional patterns, adapting something to work without modifying the crank trigger setup would require a LOT of reprogramming time of the programmer (like a hypertech or something) so don't expect any companies to do it any time soon..

But FYI, I'm just regurgitating this from memory from the delphi board, so don't ask me questions, I haven't looked into it THAT much yet :P
