Subject: Wanted: Jet Chip for 4.7 IP: Logged
Message: Looking for a used Jet Chip for a 2004 Model 4.7 Dakota....
I'm seeing a lot of people say they've tried them and they don't work -- yet I'm seeing a few people who say they do....
Would like to experiment for myself, but not enough to pay full retail price for the experiment...

Message: I have mixed opinions about mine. Just to let you know I paid about $225 for mine from Summit, so if your willing to pay around $150, I'll take it.
I feel that it robs from second gear and adds to first so to speak. I can roast the tires more easily and definately have more low end pickup, but the midrange has a definate loss in power now. I race a GMC 1500 with the 5.3(?) in it on a regular basis as a testing truck. Before the chip I pulled on the GM when I hit second and pulled past him. From the start the GMC was faster. Now with the chip I jump the GMC from the start and slowly lose through 2nd. 3rd I pull away from him. So its a mixed bag. Got big tires and awesome grip? Buy the chip cause I burnout to easily with it.
Thought it give it to you straight from a guy that owns it and doesnt care if I sell it or not. I did notice a drop in mileage around 15-20 miles per tank (19 gallons). Most of my regular passengers noticed the truck felt more "beefy" after the chip. I never told them that I put in the chip. Let me know if youre still interested.
