Message: I know what you're saying gen1dak. We were looking for torque for the Ramcharger. It was just an idea that we tossed around and it worked. But according to Desktop Dyno all the curves fall off before 3000rpm. To top it off, he put a 3000 stall converter on it and it worked even better. As I say, we were looking for torque and wasn't expecting it to rev. Still really don't know why it does.
jdb, those cylinder heads you speak of are the 273 heads. Same chamber as the 302 casting # heads believe it or not. 57.3cc. Just compare them physically.

Message: No, Vern is correct - mopar was a year ahead of most other manufacturers on this. My '72 Challenger came with electronic ignition from the factory.
