Message: Is there a way to increase power but get your exhaust quieter? I'd sure scare people when you tear it up but your a quiet little guy ;-) Just curious because I take my truck hunting and I don't want something that'll scare everything off for a good 5 miles.

Even the quietest Dak is going to scare off a deer. Why don't you go buy one of those EZ GO carts for old people. They are electric and I have heard they are quiet.

Message: From all I've seen the factory exhaust is very efficient. Without other engine and/or intake mods very little power is gained with catback systems. If your looking for quiet power I would recommend the factory system and putting your money into the engine bay.

Message: NO I don't drive around and shoot deer.. But my camp is at the back of the lease.. I don't want to drive in and let everything in a 20-mile radius know that I'm here... BTW want to go hunting Jason.. I have the perfect spot for you to sit & wait... even have some antlers for you to play w/.
Thanks for the info Marks DQC.

Message: I HAVE A 94 DAKOTA WITH A 318. I REDID MY EXHAUST ABOUT A YEAR AGO. I USED HOLLY FLOWTECH HEADERS, TWO HIGH FLOW CATS, AN H-PIPE, AND TWO FLOWMASTER 30 SERIES MUFFLERS. THE TRUCK REALLY WASN'T THAT LOUD. IT SOUNDED PRETTY GOOD ON A COLD DAY BUT NOTHING THAT WOULD SCARE ANYONE. I LATER WENT TO AN X-PIPE WHICH MADE IT EVEN QUIETER THEN BEFORE. THE X-PIPE PROVIDES BETTER AIR FLOW. EXHAUST GASES WILL FLOW TO THE PATH OF LEAST RESISTENCE. THE DESIGN OF THE X-PIPE ALOWS THAT, THUS MORE POWER. IF YOU GO WITH THAT SET UP AND TWO 50 SERIES FLOWMASTERS, WHICH HAVE LESS NOISE THEN THE 30 OR 40 SERIES YOU SHOULD BR PRETTY HAPPY. FOR ME THE HEADERS DIDN'T MAKE MUCH OF NOISE DIFFERENCE. THEY DID HOWEVER GIVE A LITTLE MORE POWER IN THE LOW END.
