Message:
Recently took my truck in to have fluid/filter changed and bands adjusted. Got it back and it slips shifting from 1st to 2nd if you are over 2,300 RPM BUT when I go through the gears manualy it shifts perfectly. Am I wrong to assume that this is something electrically since it shifts fine when I put it through the gears myself?

Could be, if it's an RE tranny, that if they unplugged the battery, the PCM is having to re-learn everything.

,or they may have put the wrong fluid in. They did it to mine,,45RE (4.7 auto tranny)...and it slipped like a mo'fo'. Barely made it back to the shop that did it so I could chew them out.

That,,,or they may have tried to 'mix' it themselves and screwed it up. Just a thought.

Sounds like the shop that did the work f*cked up. Take it back and tell them to get it right or replace it.

YEa, mine does the same thing. If I am gentle and keep a constant pressure on the pedal then all is fine. The shop should know what to put in though. If not then it's new tranny time for me!

Let me know if they find something wrong with it. I'm going to try and adjust the cable that everyone talks about to see if it does anything

did they flush the tranny and was it the dealership? if so then they probably flushed it while the pan was still on and mixed up all the metal shaving that was in the bottom of the pan beore they removed it. dummies do that all the time. i dont know if they can get all the shavings out but its worth a try...take it back.

NO it was done at the dealership and they didnt flush it. I told them just to change the fluid and filter and adjust both bands. $130 later my tranny feels like it's going to blow and of course they say there is nothing wrong with it. But like I said earlier..if I use the gear shift to go throut 1st to 2nd it shifts fine so I'm thinking it's something electronic or maybe that cable people talk about that you adjust.
