Subject: PCV Valve on 4.7L
IP: Logged

Message:
I have had the same check engine light come on about 4 times in the last two weeks. It is a small emissions leak. Does anyone know if this is actually the PCV valve? The truck just rolled over to 30k miles a week ago.

I went to Dodge and purchased a PCV valve and they wanted $40 just to install a little valve. I have done them on my other trucks before, but I can not for the life of me find the PCV valve on this one.

Can anyone help me with this? A picture or good instructions would be great. Thanks. Any other ideas as to the problem would be great too.

Thanks guy!

I will check the gas cap. Do I need to get it from the dealer as well, or is it something I can get at an autoparts store?

2000qcsport,PCV is attached to plastic oil fill.
Type in search "PO 442",that should answer your leak question.Highly doubtful it`s related to PCV. Type"PCV"in search too. Good luck.

Gas cap indeed, same with mine. 12 bucks at the dealership parts counter for a new cap.

PCV valve is located on the side of the oil filler cap piece, it's where the tube "screws" into the side of it.
