Message: Had the same intake with the larger (750 ?) Edelbrock carb on the 400 in my Challenger. Is that what size yours is ? Good idea to play with the timing first, Mine ran so well with that carb out of the box I never bothered tuning it. They come with decent tuning tips if you got it new. That was with a purple shaft cam of unknown duration.

Message: Beautiful engine swap Intense. Here's a heads up, That air cleaner you have is pretty, but it has a plastic foam element that will melt and drip down into your motor the first time you backfire through the carb (likely until you get it tuned) and has less surface area than the large round kind that came stock on the old big blocks. Trust me. I burned a 70 Camaro to the ground because of an engine fire that started with that exact air cleaner. Put the pretty one on at shows or any time you wanna dress up the motor for a while. Get a good high volume paper filter for the rest of the time.

its pretty... but i have if off when trying to tune right now. I had a 14x3 K&N on it but it hits the cowl. In the long run i am gonna try to find a mopar one that matches the valve covers... i believe they are 12 5/8" or something like that.
thanx for the compliments guys!
