Message: My 93 Dakota with a 318 has been taking a while to start lately. During the winter, when it was no more than 5 degrees out, she'd start right up. Now that it's got a bit warmer it doesn't like to start cold, and its been getting worse. It used to turn over a few times and go. Now it turns over 2 - 3 seconds before it starts which is a bit too long. Have you guys had problems like this with yours? What could I do to fix it?

Message: My truck had a "long cranking start" problem over the winter to. It was due to the fuel presure drop cased by sender bleedback into the tank. Due the pressure drop it now takes the fuel system time to re-pressurise before the injectors get enough fuel to run the engine. I changed the pump and not only did I fix the long start but I also got my gas gage reading again and I got rid of the nasty whinning sound coming from the old pump.
