Subject: Engine vibration? IP: Logged
Message: Hey guys I have a 92 V8 4x4 130KM, When I rev the engine in park or neutral, and hold it around 2500 rpms, the truck starts shaking(not super rough but definitely not smooth). I took it to the mechanic he checked it out but of course the mechanic didnt notice anything...story of my life! I havent had this truck very long, is it normal or is something out of balance? I dont know if this is related but at 100km/hr and over the truck has a slight woble, i had the alignment done and new tires and balancing done but nothing changed. Thanks

Message: Does your truck idle rough?Check your plug wires for cracks rub marks or any type of wear. when your truck is idling you can unplug each wire one at a time with a pair of plires. if it dosent smooth out plug it back in and go to the next. if it smoothes out you got a miss.pop off your distributor cap and have a look at the rotor and cap.

Message: I pulled out each plug one at a time and it still was running rough...any other suggestions? could a crapy trany mount cause the vibration? What about the fan or pulleys? thanks

Message: A partially torn motor mount will do that. You have to look close though because it may or may not be seperated all the way and that could be why sometimes it runs smooth and sometimes not. Worth a shot.

Message: thats what I thought, but you know mechanics they never seem to find anything...they can only locate the problem once my engine falls out! the mechanic also said my u joints were ok but when i floor it I can hear them...i guess i'll crawl under and take care of business myself! Thanks
