i have a 93 dodge dakota with a 5.2 single cab whats the size of my gas tank also i seen in the picture albums a dueally dakota did this person do that them selfs or did they really have dueally dakotas

I shouls remember this since I had 3 of the gen2's. I'm almost possitive the standard tank was 18gal. I think the SLT/SL or whatever they called them back then had an optional 22gal tank. So, depending on what options your truck came with will determine what tank it has....
Get you a 5gal can of gas and go drive it until it starts to stumble. Be as close to a gas station as possible. Poor in your 5gal and go to the station. Fill her up and add the 5gals you already put in to the total at the pump and you'll know then exatcly what you have.

up

its a LE thanks for the info i was just wondering my truck fuel gauge doesnt work and tonight i put 17 gallons in it worse part is i only had 150 miles on the tank but ive been raceing alot how could of gas millage can i get with my truck its the 5.2 single cab short bed 3.55 gears

The worse I ever got in my 92 4x4 5.2L auto was 11mpg, but I was pulling over 10,000lbs of firewood on a 3 axle trailer. Other than that one time I averaged 14. My 93 2wd 5.2L auto averaged 16mpg. I drove it really hard. It never got less than 13mpg and I hit 18mpg quiet often. My 94 5.2L auto was even better. I never got less than 15mpg with it and I could hit 21 mpg on the highway with the cruise set at 60mph. The 94's had slightly smaller cams and exhaust manifolds than the 93's.
That 93 5.2L is one bad little SOB!! Is it a short bed? That thing will beat an R/T.
If you only got 175 miles out of a tank, I would suspect that one of your buddies "borrowed" some gas from you. Dude, that's only 10mpg.

I have had a few dakotas including a 93 V-8. The v-8's came with a 22 gallon tank. The only ones with the small tanks were V-6.

yea its a short bed its also one of those mark 111 things with runing boards tited windows wood dash its sharp i havent race a r/t yet but i will soon i live in a small town and i know a kid who has one

Is his a RC or a CC R/T? If he has a CC you should have no problem as long as that 5.2 is hitting on at least 7cyl.

i had a 92 ex cab 4x4 le, and it had a 22 gal tank. my guage diodn't work poroperly either, it would normally take anywhere between 17 & 19 gallons, but also took 22 a few times, there was a 22 stamped right on the tank, when i finally crawled under and looked.

My '92 5.2 RC had a 15 gallon tank. It was a bare-bones Sport with bucket seats, tilt/cruise, A/C and cassette the only options. It had a peg-leg rearend and no front swaybar. I installed a swaybar, and lived with the peg-leg ok, but the small tank was always a pain. However, if acceleration was on call, the Dak was always 42 pounds lighter (7gallons) LOL!

I believe the base models came with an 18 gallon tank. The Sports came with an 18gal and the 22gal was optional (my 92 Sport had the 18gal). The LE's came with a 22gal tank as standard (both my 93&94 LE's had the 22gal tank). All of that was pretty stupid if you think about it. Who wouldn't rather have the 22gal tank? It cost Dodge more to offer the differnt tank sizes than it would have been to put the same tank in all trucks and not raise the price on the base models.

I've had two '94 V6 dakotas. I know they both have 15 gal tanks.
It says right there on the manual, plus I've measured it.
