is there anyone that is running no muffler on there 4.7L? if so, i know it would be loud, does it run pretty good like that or do you have problems with anything

i am in the process of purchasing a 2000 dakota 4x4 cc and it has no muffler.it is a little loud but it sounds nice and throaty.performance i can't tell you about.i have only test drove a couple of times and it runs really good. remember if it's too loud your too old!

No muffler on a 4.7L Automatic probably means no low end tq. I've got a 3" cat, 3"flowmaster dumped before the rear axle and I lost low end..... don't need low end, got a manual, so I don't care.

I have a 2000 dakota with a 4.7 liter and i have just a y-pipe after the cat and then it runs straight out the back with 3" tips and it sounds great. it has a deep sound to it all the time until you get on it then it cakkles.one word will describe it for everyody AWSOME

Hey Matt,
Did you do that yourself? Did you just remove everything from the cat back, put the Y pipe on and then straight pipes back? Did you need to have the pipes bent for any reason? If it is an easy mod I might consider doing it.
