Message: Most people are using the 15x8 Dakota/Durango rim because they're inexpensive and usually easy to find on one of the online forums or E-Bay. Since they came from a Dakota/Durango they fit like a glove. 6 on 4.5 is a hard pattern to find when it comes to aftermarket rims, the only other vehicle we share it with is the Dodge Viper.

Message: I have not checked on it in a long time but Weld Wheels used to make a cheap set of steel wheels for the Dakota especially made for the drag strip. You could get them in any width and they were about $100.00 each. This was 10 years ago. I'm going to look into it myself since I now have a set of MT's. Even though they are steel, they are lighter than the factory Aluminum wheels that come on the Dak. Lighter reciprocating weight helps a lot more than people realize. When I mounted my Enki racing wheels on my Charger my 1/4 mile ET dropped .1sec. At the time (1985) Enki made the lightest LEAGAL racing wheel.

Message: Well, I checked their web page and I don't see them. They were oval slotted steel mags. Everyone ran them on the dirt tracks and the drag strips back in the 80's and early 90's. All the hot rod magazines used to advertise them. I guess all good things must come to an end. You have to shell out 200-400 bucks a damn wheel now!

Message: Matt01RT ... where are you located? I have two MT ET street slicks...26x10.5x15...with very little wear...maybe 15 runs down the track with short burnouts. I also have two AR-767 15x8 black steel rims. If you're interested and are within reasonable range of western NY (about an hour from Erie PA), let me know. When I went to 4.56 gears, I had to go to 28" tires.
