Subject: R/T octane IP: Logged
Message: I was looking in the owners manual to see what type (octane) of gas to use in my R/T but all information was for the non R/T trucks unless I overlooked something - it's still stock except for cold air, synthetic oil and flowmaster with a short turndown. I have played with 93 91 and 89 octane gas and so far 89 seems to work best. Sooo does anyone know what should actualy be used in my truck??

Message: I haven't tried it at the track to see if there's a difference. I agree on the 89. Mine seems to run better on 89. I think that's because the 93 aroung here is 5% alcohol. Alcohol blends suck.

Message: I believe you can get by using 87 or 89 octane. I am forced to use 92 or 93 seeing I have the performance computer.

Message: I use 87. Gas is really expensive here in Hawaii @ 2.00/gallon for 87.
Besides my truck is stock with the exception of having a flowmaster system.
